A good camp cocktail needs to survive a cooler bag and come together with almost no equipment. These three have earned a permanent spot in the kit.

The campfire old fashioned

Bourbon, a sugar cube and a dash of bitters over a single large piece of ice, stirred with a stick if that is all you have.

Hot spiced cider

Warmed cider, a cinnamon stick and a measure of dark rum, simmered gently at the edge of the fire until the whole camp can smell it.
