Repairing a Torn Canvas Panel at Camp

Canvas tears happen, usually at the worst moment. A small field-repair kit turns a ruined night into a minor interruption.

Stop the tear from spreading

Before anything else, stitch a simple whip stitch across both ends of the tear to stop it running further along the weave.

Patch, then proof

Apply a self-adhesive canvas patch on the inside face, press it firmly from both sides, and re-treat the area with wax once you are home.
